Alliances and Codeshare: By joining the Air-France led SkyTeam Alliance, Kenya Airways has not only expanded its route network but also enhanced its operational efficiency by obtaining valuable access to Global Distribution Systems (GDS) that provide much of the electronic infrastructure behind airline, hotel, car rental, and other travel transactions.
Kenya Airways has also forged strategic partnerships with air-carriers like KLM, Air France, North-West, Rwandair, Air Mauritius, Korean Air, East African Airways and Air Malawi to provide passengers with additional travel options and to benefit from codeshare arrangement.

- In October 2005, Kenya Airways achieved the IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) status making it the 1st carrier in Sub-Saharan Africa to get this prestigious certification.
