Royal Jordanian

(RJ)

The Royal Jordanian is the national airline of Jordan and one of the latest entrants to the Oneworld Alliance. The airline was started after the issue of a Royal Decree by King Hussein of Jordan in 1963. Royal Jordanian is the first Arab and regional airline to be invited to join oneworld. The airline also picked up the distinction of being the first carrier to join this alliance in five years.

Alliances and codeshare partnerships: Royal Jordanian is a member of the Oneworld alliance. The alliance comprises of 12 airlines serving over 870 airports. Royal Jordanian also has an extensive network of codeshare partnerships with a number of airlines. Fleet Information:  Royal Jordanian has fleet of 29 aircrafts including Airbus 340, A321, A320, A319, two A310 freighters, and Embraer 195 and 175 aircrafts. In June 2010, two new Airbus A330s were added to the fleet to further increase flights to London and Far East destinations. Baggage Policy:  The baggage policy is different for different passenger classes. Travellers booking Royal Jordanian airline tickets for Crown class are entitled to two pieces of carry-on baggage. However, even Crown class passengers are not allowed to carry more than one piece of carry-on baggage aboard the Embraer. Economy class passengers can take just one piece of carry-on baggage. For all destinations except Nort American destinations, the one piece checked in baggage for Crown Class passengers must not exceed maximum weight limit of 30 Kg or 64 Lbs while the same for Economy class travellers is restricted to 20 Kg or 44 Lbs.
