Cairo International Airport is located in Heliopolis, north-east of Cairo, the capital of Egypt. The airport is operated by Cairo Airport Authority and is the busiest airport in Egypt and the second busiest airport in Africa. It has three terminals and is the principal hub for EgyptAir, a STAR Alliance member.

Terminal Information: There are three terminals in Cairo International Airport. CAI is undergoing continuous improvement to keep pace with the advanced nations and its 3rd terminal is equipped with the latest technology. Next to the Arrival Hall 3 in the original Terminal 1, is a large shopping centre, called AirMall. Duty-free shopping is also available in the airport at Terminal 2.
Airport Connectivity: Located in Heliopolis, Cairo Airport is approximately 22km (13.7 miles) North-East of city centre and approximately 40km (24.9 miles) from the Giza Pyramids – one of the key tourist attraction. The airport is accessible from the city centre using the 6th October Bridge that connects to Heliopolis.
Buses: The airport is easily accessible by airport bus service. These services are air-conditioned as well as non-air conditioned operating from Terminal 1 and offer convenient stops.
Airport Shuttle Bus: The latest fleet of buses of Cairo Airport Shuttle Bus service are air-conditioned and spacious offering a reliable and comfortable ride for passengers who are travelling single or in a group. The buses shuttle every half an hour from the airport to the Heliopolis, Nasr-City, Downtown Cairo, Giza, Mohandesin, Zamalek, Maadi, Haram(Pyramids area) .
Taxi Services: Taxis operated on a flat fee basis are available round the clock at the airport. Black and white taxis indicate official Cairo taxis, black and orange indicate Alexandria taxis.
Car Hire: Internationally recognised car hire companies have outlets situated within the Arrivals Hall.

The airport parking service at terminal building 1 has a total of 10 parking lots while terminal building 2 has 4 parking lots.

Café Ritazza, located at the Terminal 1's new International Arrival Hall 3, serves both quality products and variety of food items. New restaurants such as Segafredo, Tres Bon and Cielo as well as the famous oriental restaurant Kenoz have added to the variety of AirMall Restaurants and Cafés at Terminal 1.
Shopping: Cairo Airport's shopping areas are being enhanced to meet passengers’ expectations.
A new Swatch outlet and the world famous Bijoux Terner were recently inaugurated in Terminal 1 and 2 respectively. Al Shorouk, country’s Leading Book Shop will soon operate the News & Books units.
An expansion of the Duty Free on the first floor of Terminal 1 has been planned into new areas. All international departure and arrival areas have the Duty Free Shops. The airport’s Arrival Duty Free located close to Terminal 2 (arrivals) is accessible for up to 2 days after arrival in Egypt.
Terminal 3 - Close to 4,000 m2 of retail space with shops housing unique and popular international brands. The Duty Free shops here will provide an easily accessible and shoppers friendly, spacious shopping area.
Business facilities: The airport is equipped with facilities that can be used by professionals. These include meeting room, dining room, as well as individual lounges which can be booked in advance for those wishing to work and meet prior to their further journey. ATM available at the airport include Commercial International Bank CIB, Hong Kong shangahai banking corp. HSBC, Arab banking corporation ABC and Arab Bank (Exchange) apart from the ATMs of the above banks.
Public Wireless LAN Access is currently functioning and excellent communication services such as, Internet and E-Mail access, Information services, Entertainment services, Commerce services and Loyalty services are available.
Medical Facilities: There are pharmacies available in the airport. Terminal 1 has Dr. Vivian Pharmacy and Terminal 2 has Dr. Samy Farid Pharmacy. Emergency procedures sector and First Aid are also available.
Facilities for differently-abled passengers: The airport provides many special services for disabled passengers such as wheelchairs, disabled toilets, car parking spaces, special passport control services. Disabled passengers should contact their airliner for assistance.
Exclusive Service: Cairo airport is able to arrange for three levels of paid exclusive service to meet varied requirements of its users:
1) Meet and Assist - Cairo Airport’s “Meet & Assist” service provides passengers a fast and smooth clearance through all arrival and departure formalities.
2) Exclusive Service - A complete personalized service on arrival and departure that includes access to airport’s First and Business class lounges. At arrival, the airport staff will complete all formalities including immigration, baggage reclaim and customs clearance on behalf of the passengers while the passengers are treated to refreshments and light snacks in the dedicated lounge. On departure the staff will finalize all passport formalities of the passengers and accompany them to the business class lounges where they can relax or work
3) Exclusive Service – Royal Lounge – Available for the terminal 1 passengers only, the exclusive service offers possibility of the use of the airport’s luxurious "Royal Lounge".
