Airport Information: The Bangalore International Airport has replaced the old HAL Airport and is reckoned as one of the largest privately owned airports in India. With 20 gates, 8 aero bridges (including one double arm aerobridge), 19 remote bus bays & 42 aircraft stands the swanky Bangalore International Airport is all set to establish new benchmarks in the aviation industry and firmly place Bangalore on the itinerary of air-travellers all over the globe.

Immigration Counters: The airport boasts of a spacious passenger terminal spread over 760,000 sq. ft having 53 manned check-in counters, 18 self check-in counters and a capacity to handle 40 million passengers annually.

Airport Connectivity

Bus: Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation operates a bus service that offers air-conditioned Volvo buses which connect the city to the airport and depart every half an hour.

Cab Service: Apart from buses, air conditioned cab services are offered by Meru Cabs, Easy Cabs and Karnataka Taxi for the convenience of passengers thereby ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey within the city.

Car Hire: Limousine services as well as self-driven cars ARE offered by Hertz and Akbar Travels and passengers have the option to choose from a wide range of high-end cars to suit their preferences and style.

Car Parking: The airport boasts of a fully automated parking area managed by Central Parking Solutions (CPS) and has the capacity to accommodate nearly 2000 cars. Both long-term and short-term parking options are available to passengers who want to park their cars at the airport. A specially designated area has been earmarked for the benefit of visitors who desire to drop-off their friends and relatives at the airport where waiting is chargeable beyond the stipulated time of 10 minutes.

Lounges: The massive Bangalore Airport has comfortable lounges at both its domestic and international terminals. At the domestic terminal air carriers like Jet, Air India and Kingfisher have set up their own lounges while the international terminal offers Kingfisher, Oberoi and Leela lounges for passengers waiting for their flights to depart.

Food & Beverage: Passengers can look forward to a wholesome dining experience as F&B kiosks at the airport serve South Indian (Nukkad), North Indian (Kaatizone and Gangotree Chats) and Continental (Subway & Baskin Robbins) cuisines. Medical Care: An emergency medical care centre run by Columbia Asia Hospitals provides medical care facilities to passengers at the airport. Equipped with an emergency room and a pharmacy store, the centre has a fully equipped cardiac care ambulance as well as trained paramedics to provide immediate medical care and attention.

Shopping: The airport offers numerous shopping counters that are open until late night for the convenience of shoppers. For buying books, music, gifts, souvenirs and flowers passengers can visit the two Odyssey outlets located within the arrival terminal and outside. The duty free shop at the Terminal offers a wide range of items including cosmetic, gifts, liquors, tobacco, perfumes and many more items for passengers to choose from.

Business facilities: Passenger Areas at the terminal are wi-fi enabled allowing users to access the internet easily on any web enabled device free of charge.

Money, Banking, Post and Telecommunications: Passengers desirous of availing foreign exchange services can approach the Forex counter located in the international baggage claim area as well as outside the terminal building. Numerous cash machines can be found in the Arrival hall and on the curbside outside the terminal building. There is also a postal service counter managed by India Post for the convenience of passengers. Several telephone booths at the terminal offer passengers the facility to remain connected.

Facilities for passengers with special needs: Special Care has been taken at the Bangalore Airport for the comfort and convenience of   wheel-chair bound/ differently-abled passengers. Separate elevators, toilets have been assigned along with separate queues at immigration and customs for such passengers.

Airport Hotels: The Bangalore International Airport has quite a few star class luxury hotels within a radius of 10kms from the airport that offer world-class luxury and personalized services. These include the Taj Residency, Oberoi,  Windsor  Manor, Le Meridien, Leela  Kempinski, Hotel Ashok  to name a few. A new 321 room Business Class Hotel is nearing completion in June 2010 and will operate under the ‘Trident’ brand name.
