Queenstown Airport is situated in Frankton, Otago, in the South Island of New Zealand. Started as a domestic airport, the airport over the years has been witnessing increase in international traffic, especially during the winter months when the resort town of Queenstown is visited by scores of travellers. With the expanding services from LCCs to and from the airport, the summers have become busier too. The airport is used by Air New Zealand, Qantas, Jetstar and Pacific Blue that operate to destinations within New Zealand and the east coast of Australia. The Airport is located within a short drive from the city and is New Zealand's second-busiest airport (by aircraft movements).

Terminal Information: Queenstown Airport is served by only one terminal. It is a small airport consisting of one main terminal building. The terminal is equipped with a number of passenger facilities including lounges, business services, shopping, currency exchanges etc.

Airport Connectivity

Bus Services: Connectabus and Connexions, popular public transport service providers, operate services between the airport and all major hotels and other accommodation facilities in the city, down town Queenstown as well as Millbrook Resort.

Those looking for more efficient and comfortable transport services can take Super Shuttle Coaches to get between Airport and passenger’s accommodation. These are door to door services available on shared or charter basis.

Taxi Services: Taxis such as Alpine Taxi, Corporate Cabs, and Queenstown Taxis offer comfortable, efficient and safe services between the airport and the city.

Limousine Services and Limousine South are luxury transport operators which provide the passengers a variety of transport services including airport and hotel transfers, meet and greet services, departure assistance and porterage.

Lounges: Located on the first floor of Queenstown Airport terminal, the Air New Zealand Koru Lounge can be accessed via stairs midway along departure concourse. The lounge has passenger facilities for entertainment and relaxation including television, refreshments, reading material, business desk, fax, photocopier and payphones. The lounge is accessible by wheelchair.

Food and Beverage: Airport Café offers a wide range of delicious hot and cold food and an ambience to enjoy and unwind over beverages. Patagonia Chocolates offers a traditional selection of handmade chocolates together with locally roasted coffee, an outstanding range of teas, homemade style hot chocolate, fresh juices and smoothies.

Shopping: Queenstown Airport offers excellent shopping experience to its travellers with an array of shops such as Airport Gift and Bookshop for books and souvenirs; BONZ stores for the best lambskin jackets, sportswear and accessories. Kauri Clothing Ltd offers clothes designed with inspirations from nature. Opal & Jade International offers New Zealand greenstone and paua jewellery.

‘New Zealand World’ is duty and tax free operator for souvenirs and gifts. ‘Outside Sports’ supplies Queenstown visitors with everything required for adventuring.

Business facilities: Meeting Room, located on the first floor in the airport administration area, is available for meetings or community/private gatherings.

Airport Hotels: The airport has no hotels. Few hotels near the airport are Millennium Hotel Queenstown on the Frankton Road located 5 miles from the airport and Eichardt's Private Hotel located 4 miles west of the Airport.

Money, Banking, Postal and Communication

ATM
ASB ATMs give New Zealand and overseas customers access to cash and other services. All New Zealand and overseas Visa (PLUS), MasterCard (Cirrus), Diners and American Express cards are accepted.

Currency Exchange
Travelex provides foreign exchange services, foreign currency, and a wide range of travel products.

Internet Lounge & WI-FI
There are around 16 computers in the Old Terminal Internet Lounge and one can buy internet time and collect printing from Milford Sound Scenic Flights or at Airport Administration on Level 1. Throughout the airport high-speed wire-free internet access is available

Luggage: There are bag storage lockers at certain charges available in the Bag Claim Area. Oversize items (such as skis) can also be stored at Airport Administration on Level 1.

The Airport Administration offers key drop services that are accessible during normal terminal building hours.

Facilities for differently-abled passengers: Facilities that are available for the differently-abled in the airport are: automatic doors providing access to the disabled; ATMs with braille keys; wheelchair-friendly toilets; special car parking facility but valid disability card required; and an elevator to reach the first floor for Koru Lounge, airport administration and meeting Room. To use the disabled car parking, a valid disability card is required.

Exclusive Services: “Meet and Assist” services are there for passengers who would request for assistance and escort to the departure.

Helpdesk: Air New Zealand Service Desk is placed close to the entry and exit point at the terminal.
