The Chiang Mai International airport is undoubtedly one of the important gateway to the northern Thailand and one of the busiest airports in the country. The airport receives a hundreds of flights each week from Bangkok as well as Singapore, China, Taiwan, Myanmar and Laos.

Airport Information: The Chiang Mai's airport may be small, but is very busy as it caters to nearly 15,000 flights and handles 16,000 metric tons of cargo each year.

Airport Connectivity: Taxis and tuk-tuks are available from the airport to Chiang Mai but fares should be negotiated in advance. Quite a few hotels also arrange for complimentary transport for their guests.

Car Hire: All major car-hire companies have set up their offices at the airport. Tickets are sold at the limousine desk in the passenger hall opposite the international and domestic arrival lounge.

Car Parking: The airport offers users a choice of both long term & short - term parking

Lounges: Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways have set up their lounges at the Chiang Mai International Airport

Food & Beverage: One can easily find several snack bars, coffee shops in both Arrival & Departure terminals. Besides this the Thai Airways restaurant serves delicious Thai and European food.

Medical Care: Emergency Medical Care is offered at the airport for passengers in need of urgent medical care on the second floor between 08.00 a.m. and 11.00 p.m.

Shopping: One can find shops selling a wide range of items like selling silk, handicrafts, fresh produce and souvenirs at the departure lounge of both domestic and international terminals.

Business facilities: Though there are no conferencing facilities at the airport, passengers are offered wireless internet services free of charge.

Money, Banking, Post and Telecommunications: Currency Exchange booths, coin operated telephone booths are offered at the airport. One can find cash machines located through out the airport.

Facilities for Wheelchair/Differently abled passengers: Lifts, toilets and reserved parking spaces are offered for the differently abled passengers.

Airport Hotel: The airport does not have its own hotel but there are quite a few located close to the airport.

Lost and Found: Those who wish to locate their belongings can contact the Thai Airways International Counter or the Airport Information Centre
