The mighty Brahmaputra originates in the Himalayas in Western Tibet and flows 2900 kms into the sea in the Bay of Bengal. It is navigable through the Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. The cruise provides an opportunity to witness the diverse cultures and the wildlife in Assam. While on cruise you may also see Gangetic Dolphin.
The RV Charaidew is a 38m long twin-engine steel-hulled passenger boat owned and operated by Assam Bengal Navigation Co. he has been converted to provide 12 generous-sized twinbedded cabins, air-conditioned and with en suite shower and WC. All cabin accommodation is on the upper deck, as is a bar and sitting area. A dining room is on the lower deck, while a top sundeck offers additional open-air seating and sun lounges. Food on board is a mixture of Assamese and continental.

This 7-night cruise starts at Silghat, accessed from either Tezpur or Guwahati airports, and terminates at Neamati. Highlights are Kaziranga National Park, the Hindu monasteries on Majuli Island and Sibsagar, the old capital of the Ahom kings, with palaces and temples.
The cruises are named after the “Assam Despatch” service, the daily mail-cum-passenger service that once plied from Calcutta up the Brahmaputra to Dibrugarh. This 4-night cruise starts at Guwahati and terminates at Dhubri, ideal for combining a short cruise with Darjeeling, Sikkim or Bhutan.
