  The Golden Temple or Darbar Sahab, situated in the middle of a man-made lake in the holy city of Amritsar, is the most important spiritual and cultural centre of Sikh religion. A visit to the historical city of Amritsar gives you insight into the culture and the lifestyle of Punjab. This journey also takes you to the Himachal Pradesh, one of India’s most picturesque Himalayan states with leafy hill stations. Shimla, the summer capital of the British Raj, the picturesque hill town of Manali and the magical Paragpur takes you to a world beyond imagination. Delhi ~ Amritsar ~ Dharamshala ~ Paragpur ~ Manali ~ Shimla ~ Chandigarh

     

Day 1 Delhi
Arrive Delhi. Meet and assist upon arrival and transfer to the Oberoi Hotel for one night.

Day 2 Delhi to Amritsar
Sightseeing tour of Delhi. Late in the afternoon board the Shatabadi Express train to the historic city of Amritsar. Overnight at the Ritz Plaza.

Day 3 Amritsar
Morning tour of the city visiting the famed Golden Temples complex, the most important shrine of the Sikhs, Jallian Wala Bagh and the Ram Bagh gardens. Evening visit India and Pakistan boarder at Wagah to see the spectacular joint retreat ceremony by the security forces of India and Pakistan.

 
Day 4 Amritsar to, Dharamshala
After breakfast leave for Dharamshala, the headquarters of the exiled Dalia Lama. Dharamshala is set along Shivalik and Dauladar ranges overlooking Kangra valley. Overnight at the Grace Cottage.

Day 5 Dharamshala
Dharamshala is an amalgam of many cultures. Visit McLoeodgunj, home of Dalai Lama, and Tibetan Buddhist settlement. Also visit Norbilingka Institute, dedicated to the preservation of Tibetan culture.

Day 6 Dharamshala to Paragpur
A scenic drive to Paragpur in the Kangra valley visiting en route Brajeshvari Temple and Kangra fort, housing paintings by Roerich in the fort museum. Explore the Kangra valley. Visit the Heritage village with its cobbled streets, mud walls and slated roofed houses. Overnight at the Judge’s Court, a small heritage hotel built in early 17th Century.

   

Day 7 Paragpur to Manali
After breakfast leave for Manali, situated on the banks of the Beas River in the central Himalayan ranges. It is a lush green hill resort surrounded by mountain ranges and gushing streams. Overnight at the Park Inn.

Day 8 Manali
At leisure to relax or explore the town. Places of interest are 1000 years old four story Hidamba Devi Temple with pagoda shaped roof. Spectacular Solang valley is 13 kms from Manali. Vashisth hot sulphur springs, 3 kms from Manali, believed to carry medicinal properties.

Day 9 Manali to Simla
After breakfast depart for the scenic mountain drive to Shimla visiting Kulu valley en route and following the raging torrents of Beas River. Overnight at the Clarks Hotel.

Day 10-11 Simla
Shimla, the summer capital of the British Raj, is the state capital of Himachal Pradesh. At leisure to explore the town, the Vice Regal lodge, State museum, library and the famous Mall.

 
Day 12 Simla to Chandigarh
A scenic drive to Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two North Indian states, Punjab and Harayana, designed by the Swiss architect Le Corbusier with many architectural delights. Afternoon City tour includes a visit to the Botanical garden and the world famous Rock Garden made from the rock fossils, coal and clay and art objects fashioned from industrial and urban waste. Overnight at the Taj Chandigarh.

Day 13 Chandigarh to Delhi
Depart with Shatabadi Express train to Delhi. Remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight at the Oberoi Hotel.

Day 14 Depart to Delhi
