A combination of some of the finest sites in the Western Ghats of South India. This meandering journey begins with Mumbai, the commercial capital of India. You visit the ancient temples of Belur and Halebid and the lovely palaces of Mysore. Continue to India’s foremost wildlife reserve and journey through some of the unexploited scenic and breathtaking tropical forests and lush green hill stations of the Northern Kerala, amidst tea and coffee plantations. Cruise through the palm dotted backwaters and end with a few days of relaxation on the glorious Varkala beach.

Day 1 Arrive Mumbai
Arrive Mumbai. Meet and assist upon arrival and transfer to the Ambassador Hotel.
Day 2 Mumbai
Morning visit Elephanta caves by boat in the Arabian Sea. Afternoon city tour of Mumbai, once a group of seven islands, named after the goddess mother Mumba Devi. Visit the Gateway of India, which commemorates the visit of King George in 1911, Marine drive, Prince of Wales museum, Dhobi ghat and Hanging gardens.

Day 3 Mumbai to Bangalore
Morning flight to Bangalore, noted for its gardens, tree-line avenues and Gothic churches. Afternoon tour of the city visiting the Tipu Sultan’s palace and fort, Bull temple, Botanical garden and impressive
Vidhan Sabha. Overnight at the Capitol Hotel.
Day 4 Bangalore to Hassan
After breakfast leave for Hassan. En route visit Sravanabelagola, with its huge monolithic statue
of Gomatheshwara (175 ft tall). Visit the Hoysala temples at Belur and Halebid. Overnight at the Southern Star Hotel.

Day 5 Hassan to Coorg
Drive to Coorg, set in tropical forest amidst coffee, orange and spice plantations. Afternoon walking
tour and bird watching. Overnight at the Orange County Resort.
Day 6 Coorg
Morning tour of the plantations. Afternoon boat ride on the lake. Optional visit to the nearby tribal
villages.

Day 7 Coorg to Mysore
Drive to Mysore, once the capital of a princely state and renowned for sandalwood, teak and
incense. Overnight at the Southern Star Hotel.
Day 8 Mysore
Morning city tour of Mysore visiting the City Palace of the Maharaja of Mysore, Chamundi hill
where a huge statue of Nandi Bull overlooks the city. Explore the colourful Devraja fruit and
vegetable market. Afternoon visit Srirangapatnam to see Tipu Sultan’s summer palace and fort.

Day 9 Mysore to Nagarhole
Morning drive to the Nagarhole National Park, noted for herds of elephant, tiger, leopard, samber deer and variety of birdlife. Afternoon safari by elephant, jeep or coracle. Overnight at the Kabini River Lodge.
Day 10 Nagarhole to Vythiri
Early morning safari then drive to Vythiri, a delightful resort for nature lovers, amidst coffee plantations. Afternoon free for independent explorations. Overnight at the Tree House.

Day 11 Vythiri to Trissur
Morning leave for Trissur visiting en route Beypore, where you will see making of Dhows, and the elephant stables at Guruvayoor. Later explore the town. Overnight at the Casino Hotel.
Day 12 Trissur to Cochin
After breakfast leave for Cochin, also known as the “Venice of the East’’. In the evening a sunset harbour cruise to see the Bolgahtty Island and the Chinese fishing nets. Overnight at the Trident Hilton.

Day 13 Cochin
Morning city tour visiting the 17th century Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue built in 1568, Fort
Cochin and St France’s Church. In the evening enjoy Kathakali dance performance.
Day 14 Cochin to Backwaters
Drive to Allepy and board your private Riceboat. Cruise through the palm-fringed narrow canals
and waterways of the backwaters observing the village life along the banks. Overnight on board
the Riceboat.

Day 15 Backwaters to Mumbai
Morning leave the boat, drive to Cochin and fly to Mumbai. Overnight at the Leela Kempinski.
Day 16 Depart Mumbai
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
