    Explore the city during day time. Indian railway experience begins in the evening from the Sealdah Station. Board the air-conditioned first class sleeper carriage of the Darjeeling Mail and travel North in the laps of the Himalayas. Overnight on board the train.

    In the morning arrive at New Jalpaiguri. Change to the narrow gauge toy train to Darjeeling. At Darjeeling, check-in at the hotel for the next two nights. In case the toy train isn’t working, transfer to Darjeeling shall be arranged via car.

    Observe Himalayan morning from the Tiger Hill. Come back to Darjeeling, on the way visiting the Ghoom Monastery. Explore the town in the remaining half of the day and also visit the famous Himalayan mountaineering Institute.

  • Day 7 Darjeeling to Varanasi

    Enjoy the morning at leisure. At midday board the air-conditioned train, from New Jalpaiguri, bound for Varanasi. Enjoy the ride into the Northern Plains that are cultivated by many Himalayan Rivers. Watch the colorful rural life slip by as you gradually approach the holy city of Varanasi. At Varanasi, check-in at the hotel and relax for night.

    Relax through the morning doing what you please. In the afternoon undertake an excursion to Sarnath- the site where Lord Buddha gave his first public sermon.

    A visit to the Taj Mahal has been planned at sunrise. Later in the day visit the Red Fort located on the banks of River Yamuna, and the tomb of Itamud-ud-daula. If time permits, revisit the Taj Mahal at sunset. Overnight stay at the hotel.
