Day 1 Arrive Auckland (30km)

Meeting service and pickup your rental car at the airport depot. Drive to your hotel for the night in Devonport on Auckland´s North Shore

Day 2 Auckland / Opua (260km) B

Make your way to the beautiful Bay of Islands. Perhaps visit the Parry Kauri Park Museum or the Clapham Clocks Museum in Whangarei along the way. Another option is to turn off at Te Hana on the way north and travel via the beautiful Langs Beach and historic Waipu.

Day 3 Day at Leisure B

Northland is the „Birthplace of a Nation" and while visiting Paihia, a visit to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds or a performance of the „Sound and Light Show" is highly recommended. Today is a full day at leisure in the Bay of Islands – included is a Fullers Bay of Isalnds Dolphin Eco Encounter tour.

Day 4 Opua / Awanui (190km) B

Enjoy the spectacular coastal scenery as you drive north. Follow the scenic drive towards Matauri Bay. Perhaps a round of golf at the magnificent Kauri Cliffs Golf Resort, before driving further to the base of Ninety Mile Beach and your accommodation on the west coast.

Day 5 Day at Leisure B

Options are available today for a full day guided excursion to Cape Reinga or a half day safari on the mighty sand dunes of Ninety Mile Beach.

Day 6 Awanui / Waipoua Forest (150km) B

Head south today and cross the Hokianga Harbour by car ferry (cost not included). An exciting option is to stop off at Opononi and take the boat across the harbour to the giant sand dunes and ride a boogey board to the bottom. Travel on to the Waipoua Forest to see “Tane Mahuta” the biggest kauri tree in New Zealand. Take a walk and view native New Zealand forest and bush, before travelling on to your accommodation for the night.

Day 7 Waipoua Forest / Auckland (180km) B

One hour into your journey today visit the Matakohe Kauri Museum. Travel via Wellsford and then take the route via Helensville and view one of the black iron sand beaches on the West Coast of Auckland. The tour concludes with returning your rental car to the city or airport depot.
