Virgin Atlantic drops fuel surchargesAirline Virgin Atlantic has announced that it is to cut fuel surcharges as of midnight tonight (October 15th), in what may be good news for those travelling on Virgin Atlantic flights to Sydney, among other destinations.

The price cuts will apply to economy and premium economy class seats only, with upper class passengers paying the same as before.

It marks the company's drop in prices since oil prices fell in summer and will see ticket prices fall by up to £13 per customer.

"We keep our fuel surcharges under constant review and will adjust them as and when we feel it is appropriate to do so We have seen a sustained decrease in the price of oil and we felt it was right to pass this on to our passengers," a Virgin Atlantic spokesperson told the Telegraph.

Last month, the carrier announced that its passengers from London Heathrow may soon be able to benefit from better services.

Those opting to travel on the carrier's Upper Class service from Terminal 3 will now get through check-in and security in only 40 minutes, it said.
