Great conditions for ski holidays reported worldwidePeople keen on winter sports holidays are likely to be pleased with the recent news from a range of ski resorts across Europe and the rest of the world - that unseasonably thick snow is creating ideal conditions for skiing and snowboarding.

Austria, Switzerland and Canada have all spoken of deep blankets of the white stuff and many resorts have opened early in order to offer skiers the best possible conditions.

Alyn Morgan from the Ski Club of Great Britain said: "The winter ski season really feels like it is upon us. It bodes well for good early season conditions and hopefully good snow cover for the festive period."

According to the Independent, some 1.35 million people went on ski holidays last season, either independently or on a package trip.

People wishing to take ski holidays to Australia may wish to consider booking flights to Melbourne, from which they can reach resorts around the Alpine and Mt Buffalo national parks.
