The pick of what to do on holidays to AustraliaAnyone stuck for what to do on upcoming holidays to Australia may be interested in a newsletter released by tourismAustralia.com today (December 9th).

The organisation suggests numerous family-friendly things to do for people who may be spoilt for choice when it comes to the enormous country down under.

Firstly, there is the Mamu Rainforest Canopy Walkway in Queensland, which opened recently.

It allows visitors to see plants and animals in their natural habitat, right up in the treetops, as well as offering views over the North Johnstone River Gorge.

"The entire area has cultural significance for the Mamu and the walkway was constructed in partnership with the indigenous people," tourismAustralia.com comments.

In addition, there is also Cockatoo Island in Sydney, where tourists can camp out, enjoy barbecues and explore its history through guided tours, all while overlooking the famous Harbour Bridge.

Tourism down under may enjoy a boost following the release of the new film Australia in the UK on Boxing Day.
