Young families carry on holidaying regardlessFamilies with pre-school children are largely unaffected by the credit crunch, the results of one survey suggest.

A poll of 300 such families carried out by the information site BabyFriendlyBoltholes.com revealed that 55 per cent will not alter their travel plans as a result of the global economic downturn.

Furthermore, 15 per cent said they were confident about having spare money left over for holidays after paying their expenses.

Last year, insurance.co.uk found that 27 per cent of babies under six months had also been taken on a foreign holiday by their parents at least four times in their lives.

Holidays to Australia could be ideal for people with young children - Tom Hall of Lonely Planet recently suggested in an article for the Irish Independent that Melbourne is a great child-friendly destination thanks to its theme parks, beaches and aquariums.

Anyone interested in booking flights to Australia may be interested to know that Qantas offers such services.Meet the editors...
