Grandparents dont let age reduce holiday funToday's grandparents are not letting the excuse of age get in the way of having a good time on holiday with their grandchildren, new research has revealed.

According to a study carried out by University of Brighton MA student Franka Steinkopf, 66 per cent of grandparents said they want to share experiences with their grandchildren on a joint holiday, while 84 per cent thought the youngsters' education could be benefitted in this way.

Eating out, sailing, going to the zoo and going to the seaside were all cited as popular activities to do together.

Ms Steinkopf commented: "In a significant change from their own grandparents, today's grandparents have a lively interest in and expectation of participating in activities."

Last year, a poll carried out by Warner Home Video found that travel was one of the top priorities for people to do before they died, with holidays to Australia to see the Great Barrier Reef a popular aspiration.
