Try the ferry network on holidays to SydneyAnyone on holidays in Sydney should not miss the opportunity to take a ride on one of the city's ferries for a tourist trip.

This is according to the Telegraph's Stephen Fay, who rode them on a recent break and found that Australians hold them in almost as much stead as Londoners do the Underground, with some 14 million people using them each year.

"There is no more appealing way to discover one of the world's most exciting cities," he commented.

Mr Fay added that anyone opting to travel in this way should make sure they go past the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, as they look spectacular form the water.

According to Sydney.com, the city has a population of almost four million and covers almost 1120 square kilometres. This site also recommends that holidaymakers with time to spend in the city do so around the harbour area.
