Holidays to Australia are great for foodiesPeople with a passion for good food and wine should choose holidays to Australia this year.

This is according to Leaonne Hall, writing for the Embrace Australia blog, who said that the vast country offers a wide variety of fresh produce to tempt all tastebuds.

She singles out Kangaroo Island in particular as being good for foodies looking for something new to try.

"There's wineries, sheep's cheese, olive oil, honey, lamb, chicken, beef, crayfish, marron, abalone, oysters and fish caught fresh from the Southern Ocean," Ms Hall points out.

Meanwhile, Australia's success in wine production is also noted, with Western Australia recommended as one of the best regions to head to for tasting different varieties of the beverage.

Finally, Tasmania's excellent fruit-growing climate could make it the ideal place for people whose weakness is puddings, with humbleberries being a particular delicacy Ms Hall suggested.

According to Australian Wine Online, Australia is the world's fourth largest exporter of wine and the sixth largest producer.
