Barossa Valley in south Australia offers boutique wine experienceWine-lovers may wish to head to south Australia this summer for a boutique wine tasting experience.

The South Australia Tourism Commission has announced the launch of a new premier wine offering at its luxurious vineyard retreat - The Louise.

Guests will be invited to meet and taste the wines of nine of the region's top winemakers - who only produce small quantities of their "prestigious product", said the commission.

The wineries taking part in the experience include Whistler Wines, Small Fry, Kalleske, Tscharke, Mihinch, Massena, Radford, Spinifex and Hutton Vale - who also produce wool, lamb, chutneys and pickles.

As part of the trip, travellers can take a tour of a walled garden and take part in a private appellation over lunch.

The Louise is situated in the Barossa Valley which, according to the area's official website, claims to have some the oldest Shiraz vineyards in the world. The valley was also named in the New York Times' 53 Places To Go in 2008. Meet the editors...
