Get away from the office on an Australian island holidayBy organising work properly before jetting off on a break, people can make better use of their holiday time and be able to relax, an industry expert has said.

Research carried out by Hotels.com revealed that some quarter of a billion hours of holiday time is spent doing work while away from the office.

Lisette Howlett, managing director of HireScores.com, said employees "should organise and plan their time so it doesn't take over their holiday so an hour every morning or one afternoon in the week".

"The rest of the time, they should be relaxing," she added.

Ms Howlett said that travellers should be better supported by their companies so that they are not made to feel guilty about leaving their work behind and by properly delegating tasks and organising before they go, people can make the most of their free time on holiday.

Travellers wishing to get away from the office on a break may wish to take a holiday on an Australian island.

Wilson Island in the Great Barrier Reef can only accommodate 12 guests at a time and is a great place to escape the trappings of modern-day life. Meet the editors...
