For those who wish to explore the Outback on their holiday in Australia, there are many different ways in which to do it.

More adventurous holidaymakers may wish to take to the skies and explore the Outback with Alice Springs Helicopters.

A new tour has been launched for those on holiday in Australia, where travellers can combine a helicopter trip - which can seat a maximum of four people - with an insight into Aboriginal culture at a private dot painting workshop.

For visitors who prefer keeping their feet firmly on the ground, a guided walk may be more appealing.

NT Immersions, an outdoor adventure company, has launched a new walk through Australia's Top End and the Kakadu National Park - which is world-heritage listed.

Tents, complete with "comfy" beds and cooked meals will be provided on the trek, which lasts for five days and takes in native wildlife and many sights.

Holidaymakers who have booked flights to Darwin will be well-placed for these attractions.
