People with a passion for animals could be tempted to visit an exhibition of rare and endangered Tasmanian fauna as part of their holiday to Australia later this month.

Endangered Tasmanian species to go on show

Animal enthusiasts planning a holiday to Australia could be tempted to head along to a showcase of rare and endangered species at Rutland Water in Tasmania later this month.

Between August 21st and 23rd, Birdfair will offer visitors the chance to see a range of different creatures, as well as meet experts to find out more about the region's fascinating inhabitants.

"Information on getting up close and personal with the island's spectacular bird and wildlife will be available from experts on the Island Holidays stand," the event organisers explain.

A number of other tourism representatives will also be on hand to offer hints and tips on how to make the most of a trip to Tasmania.

Those who enjoy the great outdoors could be tempted to spend some extra time on Tasmania, which is the smallest of the six states of Australia, as the region is home to around 300 species of bird, including a dozen endemic varieties.
