Travel reviews are valued by British holidaymakers Before heaving their suitcases along to the airport for their cheap holidays in Australia, Brits are increasingly relying upon comments and reviews posted by other travellers on their destinations.

This is according to research from the annual Thomson and First Choice trends report, which shows that 80 per cent of people trust the reviews they see on travel websites.

However, just one-fifth of travellers polled said that they actually leave their own comments following their holiday experiences.

Managing director of TUI Travel UK and Ireland Dermot Blastland told Travel Weekly: "More people are reading than posting reviews and we'd like to see this change and encourage more travellers to share their thoughts, whether they are good or bad."
