Luxury accommodation opens in south Australian outbackHolidaymakers booking flights to Australia may want to visit the outback during their stay.

A new, luxury property has been developed in the bush to offer travellers a taste of the outback in comfort.

The house is situated on the edge of the Flinders Ranges in the south of the country.

Activities on offer to intrepid guests include bush walking, four-wheel drive experiences, trips to see original Aborigine rock art and mountain biking.

The accommodation, called Arkaba after a nearby creek, is a modernised, five-bedroom homestead set on a 60,000 acre sheep station.

Guests are also given the option of foregoing the comfort of their beds for one night to camp out under the stars.

The Flinders Ranges have been given the accolade of one of Australia's first National Landscapes.

Other attractions in South Australia include the Simpson Desert and Lake Eyre, Australia's largest lake when it fills to its capacity.
