British comedian moves to Australia

People planning holidays to Australia may be interested to know that Ben Elton is moving to the country.

Ben Elton is swapping the British winter for the sunshine down under, it was revealed today (November 10th).

According to the Daily Mail, the British comedian is planning to move to Freemantle in Western Australia next month.

He holds dual British and Australian citizenship and already owns a house in the Australian city.

Mr Elton's Australian wife and three children will also make the move, leaving behind their home in Sussex.

Holidaymakers who want to visit the city may like to book flights to Perth before hiring a car to drive to the location on the west coast.

The port offers a range of activities for travellers, including sailing, wildlife-watching tours and a selection of museums.

Freemantle is described as one of Western Australia's most historic cities due to its heritage as a 19th century seaport. The city also boasts being home to the oldest public building in the state - the Esplanade Hotel, which was built in the 1890s.
