Musician to travel Australia to promote the Northern TerritoryAnyone planning holidays to Australia in 2010 could bump into a local musician who is travelling the country to promote the Northern Territory.

Jess Ribeiro and her band, the Bone Collectors, will be travelling to a range of cities and towns around the country to encourage tourists to visit some of the state's attractions.

Every year, Tourism NT runs events designed to raise awareness of the country's central state among travel agents in the region.

This year, the tour is based around the theme of untold stories and Jess' band are the perfect accompaniment, minister for tourism Malarndirri McCarthy said.

"The Bone Collectors are inspired by an ancient myth about a spirit being who wanders the desert collecting bones and singing them back into creation which compliments this year's theme," she explained.

Visitors to the Northern Territory often head into the outback to see one of Australia's most famous natural landmarks, Uluru, while the nearby Kata Tjuta National Park provides some equally spectacular scenery.
