Soak up some culture at the Perth Arts FestivalAnyone who has booked holidays to Australia and is intending to explore the west coast may be interested to learn about the annual arts festival taking place in Perth in February.

It lays claim to being the oldest annual arts festival in the southern hemisphere and promises to offer tourists something a little out of the ordinary.

The event will display some of the world's best street arts and literature as well as offering a number of free activities to those in the area.

Running from February 5th to March 1st, the programme includes musical performances from the likes of Marianne Faithfull as well as a range of free art events that allow visitors to be creative.

Families are also well-catered for, with the Perth Writers Festival Family Day providing a great opportunity for young minds to engage their imaginations.

Taking place at the University of Western Australia campus, there are hands-on workshops and artistic games to keep ever member of the family amused.
