Celebrate Australia Day in Sydney this monthAnyone who has booked flights to Sydney and is leaving this month could touch down just in time for one of the country's biggest parties.

On January 26th the nation will celebrate Australia Day, when a wide range of events will take place all over the country.

People who are staying in Sydney will be able to enjoy a host of activities, from watching a ten km wheelchair road race to enjoying a free concert at Darling Harbour.

There will also be free performances from more than 70 Australian musicians in the Rocks district of the city.

Running from 11:00 (local time) to 21:00, crowds are expected to gather to see the likes of Ash Grunwald, Jeff Lang and Shellie Morris.

The day culminates with a spectacular fireworks show over the harbour that is accompanied by music and a light display.

Marking the arrival of the first British fleet in 1788, this is the 16th year that date has been marked as a national holiday.
