TV presenter and explorer Ben Fogle has announced that his latest expedition will take him to Australia.

Ben Fogle prepares for Australian expedition

One celebrity who will soon be booking flights to Australia is Ben Fogle, after announcing that his latest expedition will take him across the country.

The TV presenter will undertake his latest challenge with Olympic rower James Cracknell, who joined him on a previous trip that saw him race to the South Pole.

Mr Fogle and Mr Cracknell will be following in the footsteps of Burke and Wills, an Englishman and an Irishman who travelled from Melbourne up through the centre of the country to its north coast 150 years ago.

When asked why they selected this route, Mr Fogle explained that the changing environment along the route appealed to him.

"It's not just a desert, it's open bush; you've got rainforests, you've got mountains, you've got swamps, absolutely everything," he said.

The pair are intending to undertake the 2,500 mile trip on foot, but may take camels with them, he informed.
