Qantas boosts flights to PerthPeople booking flights to Perth may be pleased to hear that one airline has increased the number of domestic flights to and from the city.

Qantas has revealed that it intends to run a greater number of services between the coastal city and the towns of Karratha, Paraburdoo and Port Hedland.

The carrier will also expand its Perth-based fleet to 11 aircraft, offering a greater capacity from the city.

Ian Gay, Qantas regional general manager Western Australia, also stated that the company plans to plough AU$75 million (£41.66 million) into a project to redevelop its domestic terminal at the city's airport.

He explained that new facilities will include a stand-alone security screening area with extra checking points, which will benefit passengers using the airport.

Last month, the airline began its A380 service between London and Melbourne and also launched a similar operation on its route from the British capital to Sydney.
