Australia guidebook is the 100 millionthGlobal travel writer Lonely Planet has announced that its 100 millionth guidebook has been published.

People taking flights to Australia may well end up with a copy of the company's latest book about the country, which is the subject of its 100 millionth offering.

Its Australia guides are now into their 15th edition, offering anyone taking holidays to the area with a comprehensive range of advice about activities, accommodation and general tourist information.

According to the organisation, its Australia books are the most popular in its series, selling more than two million copies worldwide.

It would also seem that Brits are increasingly booking flights to India and Thailand, with each of these titles reaching the two million sales mark in 2001 and 2002 respectively.

Some of Australia's destinations have proved popular with the stars lately too.

High School Musical's Zac Efron and girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens were recently spotted holidaying in the city and even took to the sea to try surfing lessons at the region's famous Bondi Beach.
