Australian farmers in desperate need of working holidaymakers

Travellers who are thinking of going on a working holiday to Australia may find it easier to get a job after farmers have called for more help with their harvests.

The National Farmers Federation (NFF) has stated that approximately 10,000 to 20,000 extra workers will be needed in the farming and agricultural sector each year, which could provide the perfect excuse for those holidaying in the country to extend their stay.

David Crombie, president of the NFF, says: "We're in serious danger of being all revved up with no place to go. Farmers can grow the food, but who will pick the fruit, harvest the veggies and shear the sheep?"

Holidaymakers booking flights to Australia may wish to bear this in mind when they are thinking about their return date.

While enjoying a working holiday down under, travellers might also want to sample the gastronomical delights of three of Sydney's eateries - Marque, Quay and Tetsuya's - that were recently were placed in S Pellegrino's list of the top 100 restaurants in the world.
