Book flights to Australia and visit KununurraTravellers in Australia should visit Kununrra in the Kimberley region, a travel writer has said,

In an article for Suite101, Vicki Sly outlined the natural rock formations that attract people after they have stepped off their flights to Australia.

One rock is known as both the Sleeping Buddha and Elephant Rock, as it resembles both, depending on the viewing angle.

Travellers were urged to look out for the Aboriginal rock art nearby.

Also in Kununurra is Kelly’s Knob and walking tracks in the Mirima National Park.

For refreshments, tourists were advised to stop off at Paddy’s Market to try some local fare. The market is open during Saturday mornings of the dry season.

For more information, travelers can contact the Kununurra Visitor Centre.

Summer activities in the area include the Kimberley Writers Festival in August and the Kununurra Agricultural Show next month.

Those wishing to try some real Australian food can attend the Bush Tucker and Camp Oven Cooking School, also held in August.
