A boutique hotel in Australia has been rewarded for its impressive food.

The hotel has scooped the prize for Best Restaurant in a Deluxe Hotel on the south coast of the country and has now been put through to the national awards, which are due to be held in October this year.

Head chef at the bellechara, which is in Gerringong, is Dudley Wood, who has previously worked as head chef at Cafe Sydney on Circular Quay. Wood hails from London and has a wealth of experience whipping up astounding dishes in many five-star establishments worldwide.

The hotel has 52 rooms and also boasts a courtyard, poolside bar and day spa, making it an ideal spot for those taking cheap flights to Australia to relax.

Gerringong is about 130 miles away from Sydney and is a small coastal town with beautiful natural scenery.
