Before taking cheap flights to Sydney, families should do research into child-friendly activities and accommodation

Do your research, families jetting off on cheap flights toldWhile getting cheap flights, sorting out insurance and buying enough sun cream are all important aspects of organising a holiday, those travelling with children should also take the time to research what activities a place has to offer before heading off.

Conrad Doyle, co-founder of childfriendly.co.uk, said that doing a bit of research before going away could help to take the stress out of a break.

Areas of planning for family holidays could include looking for nearby restaurants that are child friendly as well as checking that there are plenty of daytime activities to keep youngsters amused.

However, it is not just about facilities, said Mr Doyle, as a recent survey showed that parents are more concerned about being welcomed and not made to feel bad should a baby cry or unruly children prove hard to keep quiet.

Another aspect of family holiday planning could be what to do during a cheap flight to Sydney, or another long-haul destination.

Taking plenty of books as well as allowing children to sit by the airplane window could be good ways of keeping them amused during a long flight.
