Explore the vineyards of South AustraliaWine enthusiasts booking flights to Australia may wish to explore the world-class vineyards on offer in one state.

Joe Czerwinski of Wine Enthusiast magazine wrote that there is far more to South Australia's wines than the big-name vineyards such as McLaren and Barossa.

He recalled a November flight to Adelaide, where temperatures soared to 43 degrees C, to explore the best the state had to offer.

Describing South Australia as "the engine that drives" the country's wine industry, he praised the low-key approach to making the beverage in the Clare Valley and Adelaide Hills, as well as Langhorne Creek, which is famous for its red wines.

He wrote: "South Australia is ... home to many of the small and medium-sized wineries that may prove to be the future of Australian wine, a more comfortable, personal approach with stronger ties to land and lifestyle."

Those planning on booking cheap flights to Australia in September may wish to take in the OzAsia festival in Adelaide.

The event combines Korean martial arts with comedy and is set to run from September 17th to October 2nd.
