New Australian cricket app launchedTourism Australia has launched a new iPhone app ahead of the forthcoming Ashes series.

Anyone taking a flight to Brisbane for the first match could be tempted to download the Go Ashes app, which provides a whole wealth of information on the series and the test match locations.

Tourism Australia general manager Rodney Harrex explained the app will be idea for holidaymakers travelling to the country for the Ashes series. Once the games start, users will be able to access live scores and stats.

He added: "We would encourage the travelling fans to have a go at some iconic Aussie experiences while they're down there such as learning to surf, wine tasting and beach cricket."

The first match will take place at the Gabba in Brisbane on November 25th followed by four more tests in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.

England will be hoping to retain the Ashes after  regaining them in 2009 by defeating Australia 2–1.
