Holidaymakers swayed by conscience Travellers looking to book cheap flights to Australia and other destinations are swayed by their conscience when it comes to choosing their holiday destination.

A report from ABTA - The Travel Association stressed that holiday companies should present their corporate social responsibility (CSR) policies clearly to help consumers make a more informed decision.

"Travel businesses have a great opportunity in making it clear where they stand with regards to their CSR policy. Consumers are aware of the impacts all types of consumerism has on the planet," explained ABTA spokesperson Sean Tipton.

Mr Tipton went on to say that efforts travel companies make will "pay off" as increasing numbers of consumers are listening to their conscience when booking a holiday.

According to the Pacific Air Travel Association, social and environmental responsibility is becoming an increasingly important factor in travellers' decision-making and helping to boost the range of tourism products and opportunities available.
