Tourism Australia joins forces with Emirates Airline A new joint initiative has been designed to promote the reason why Brits should consider booking flights to Australia.

Tourism Australia and Emirates Airline are launching a special advertising campaign in October aimed at encouraging British travellers to consider Australia for their next holiday.

A mix of online, print, radio and cinema marketing will be used to promote the option of taking flights to Australia from a number of UK airports using Emirates' one-stop services.

Rodney Harrex, Tourism Australia's regional general manager UK/Europe, explained: "British holidaymakers have had a long standing fascination with Australia and those that haven't visited before will get a real sense of our wonderful wildlife, beautiful landscapes and friendly locals."

Emirates currently offers flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth via Dubai leaving from Heathrow, London Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow.

The Australian aviation authorities recently granted interim permission for Virgin Blue to join forces with Etihad to increase flights to Dubai from Australia.
