Australia ideal for working holidayAustralia remains a perfect destination for travellers looking to enjoy a working holiday break, claims a holiday expert.

Mandy Monk, European sales and marketing consultant for Youth Hostel Association (YHA) Australia, explained many people take flights to Australia as part of a working holiday because it offers good prospects for young people.

However, she stressed that taking direct flights to Sydney may not be the only way to get a job. In particular, Brits should consider taking flights to Perth or Melbourne, even though the city of Sydney is a must see for anyone travelling to down under.

"Many flights arrive into Australia via other state capitals such as Perth and Melbourne, so this is just as good a place to start an Australian adventure," said Ms Monk.

She added that Australia is enjoying a healthy economy at the moment and that work is "readily available" for Brits entering the country on a working holiday visa.
