Six weekly direct flights to Adelaide are set to be introduced in 2011 by Malaysia Airlines.

New flights to Adelaide plannedSix weekly direct flights to Adelaide are set to be introduced in 2011 by Malaysia Airlines.

Beginning on March 27th, the non-stop flights to Adelaide from Kuala Lumpur are in response to growing demand from travellers and will allow easier connections to a range of onward destinations, reports e-travelblackboard.com.

"The new services will offer better flight schedules and greatly increase connectivity to a wide range of global destinations such as the UK and Europe, India, China and Southeast Asian countries," explained Ignatius Ong, Malaysia Airlines regional senior vice-president .

He added: "As the preferred carrier, we want to provide our customers with connectivity to their final destinations easily, speedily and conveniently."

Malaysia Airlines already offers four weekly flights to Adelaide and the new flights will depart from Adelaide at 9.00 and 15.00.

The airline recently reported an increase in net profit during the third quarter of the year as passenger numbers totalled 3.3 million over the three months.
