Holidaymakers should change currency at the last minute

Travellers are being advised to considering waiting to change their holiday money at the very last minute by ABTA - The Travel Association.

Sean Tipton, a spokesman for ABTA, explained that both the dollar and the euro are expected to weaken over the next 12 months so it could make more sense for Brits taking flights overseas to leave exchanging their pounds for foreign currency to just before jetting off.

Although he added: "Exchange rates are by their very nature unpredictable and it's always a bit of a lottery when you choose."

Brokers World First recently predicted that over the next 12 months the dollar against the pound will decrease to 1.74 and the euro will drop to around 0.78 against the sterling. This is likely to mean that the pound could remain strong against other world currencies that could help those taking flights to Australia or Dubai.
