Queensland launches new tourism campaignTourism Queensland is hoping a new campaign will encourage holidaymakers to take flights to Australia.

Despite recent flooding in the region, the local tourism body is keen to stress that it should not deter people from heading to Queensland to enjoy its attractions.

The new campaign will involve print, radio and the internet to help promote Queensland and ensure both domestic and international visitor numbers remain strong.

"Travellers will be directed through to Tourism Queensland's website for a range of holiday deals," explained Tourism Queensland's chief executive Anthony Hayes.

He added: "We need to get that message out now that there is no need to cancel your Queensland holiday if you already have one booked, and if you don't, then book one today because Queensland is ready to welcome you!"

The main destinations and attractions in Queensland include the Great Barrier Reef, the Gold Coast and the city of Brisbane.
