Qantas welcomes Easter strike cancellationBrits looking to take flights to Australia this Easter with Qantas will no longer have their plans disrupted by industrial action, it has been announced.

The Australian and International Pilots Association has today (April 7th) joined the Australian Licensed Aircraft Engineers Association in ruling out passenger disruptions over Easter.

Alan Joyce, chief executive officer of Qantas, welcomed the move, describing it as sensible.

"Customers can now book their holidays safe in the knowledge that unions will not disrupt their plans. Our priority is to ensure customers can visit family and friends and go on holidays without disruptions from union-led strikes," he said.

Mr Joyce said Qantas management held further meetings with the pilots' union and licensed engineers this week with more planned next week.

British travellers looking to take a holiday down under this Easter can book flights to Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide and 54 other Australian destinations with Qantas.
