A family of albino wallaroos has been spotted at a luxury Australian holiday resort.

An Australian holiday resort has reported sightings of three albino wallaroos, one of the rarest mammals in the country, giving animal lovers another reason to book flights to Australia.

Wolgan Valley Resort and Spa is home to a variety of indigenous species as it is situated in the corner of a 4,000-acre Blue Mountains nature reserve, but the latest spotting caused real excitement.

Joost Heymeijer, general manager of the resort, said: "We've had sightings of one mature albino wallaroo on the property since opening 18 months ago, but to have two more spotted on the property is incredibly rare and exciting."

The mammals spotted include two mature adults and a baby albino joey, which was seen still in its mother's pouch.

Wolgan Valley has recently made strong steps towards improving animal conservation efforts in Australia's Blue Mountains, including removing barbed-wire fences that animals can get fatally caught on.

Food-loving visitors to the resort can choose from two restaurants or opt for a private dining experience for special occasions.
