Vintage clothes swap shop coming to SydneyFashionistas booking flights to Australia next month are encouraged to check out what's going on in Sydney, as the Clothing Exchange will be hosting a vintage swap event in the city on June 23rd.

Any item made before 1990 is accepted, so stylish Brits are encouraged to dig out their old garments and pack them into their suitcases before heading down under.

DIY fashion expert Suzi Edmonds told TimeOut Sydney: "You don't have to buy new garments to be fashionable. Just re-work an existing piece. You can swap, remake or customise anything."

The Clothing Exchange is an Australia-wide swap event and the Sydney leg is being organised by Ms Edmonds and Kirsten Fredericks, who will collect all the items and sort them before more than 1,500 punters arrive to pick through them.

Those who don't find the perfect piece can have it customised to fit because, as the girls point out, the older fabrics are sometimes much better quality and many have unique designs.
