Active travellers invited to join Mark Webber in TasmaniaFormula 1 driver and Australian outdoor enthusiast Mark Webber has re-launched his Tasmanian Challenge, offering a five-day adventure for energetic travellers.

After a three-year break, the gruelling multi-sport event will return to the south Australian island from December 7th to 11th this year, Wanderlust reports.

Marathon runners and Ironman triathlon competitors may be tempted to book flights to Australia to test themselves, as this course combines kayaking, trekking, trail running, climbing and mountain biking.

Furthermore, the Tasmanian Challenge takes in some of the island's most stunning scenery, including the Freycinet National Park, Wineglass Bay, the deep forests of the Hartz Mountains and the rolling Hobart hills.

"The Challenge has always been about having determination and drive to give something a go. Now, as with the world's great endurance races, the format will allow elite athletes to chase ultimate success," Mark told the travel magazine.

Alternatively, beginner athletes looking for a more achievable challenge can enter themselves into the one-day and three-day events instead.
