Ash cloud returns to Australia grounding many flights.

Travellers on flights to Sydney and flights to Melbourne may be subject to disruption as the ash cloud from the Chilean volcano has once again descended on the south of Australia.
Qantas and Virgin have suspended all flights into and out of Sydney and Melbourne.

In addition, flights to and from Canberra have also been affected and Adelaide airport is currently shut.

Hundreds and thousands of passengers have once again been left stranded as the ash is too low for airlines to fly under.

Olivia Wirth, a spokeswoman for Qantas, said: "We estimate that we will be cancelling in excess of 200 flights on Wednesday. The experts say we simply won't be able to operate in this situation."

It is estimated that affected areas may be out of commission as late as Wednesday.

Chilean's Puyehue volcano erupted back to life on June 4th 2011.

Chile is one of the most volcanic countries in the world. It currently has about 80 active volcanoes out of a total of 3,000.
