Holidaymakers in New Zealand caught up in ash cloud delaysSome Brits who took flights to New Zealand have found themselves caught up in the travel chaos resulting from the volcanic ash cloud, which has drifted in from Chile.

Qantas and Jetstar have cancelled all flights to, from and within New Zealand as the ash cloud that affected holidaymakers in Australia has now drifted over the North Island.

Services from Qantas have been cancelled until further notice. Passengers are advised to regularly check their respective airlines' websites for further updates.

In a statement, it said: "The Qantas Group's approach to flying is based on the highest standards of safety and risk assessment."

Meanwhile, flights across airports in Australia are slowly returning back to service after two days worth of cancellations.
Chilean's Puyehue erupted on June 4th 2011 after decades of lying dormant.

The plume from the volcano could be seen from space and images were captured by the Aqua satellite.
