Smash! set to kick off in Sydney

Brits planning to take cheap flights to Sydney might like to head along to the annual Smash! event that starts later this month.

Set to be held at the Sydney Convention Centre on Saturday July 16th, Smash! is a celebration of animation, manga, video games and Japanese pop culture, with fans to be treated to a host of attractions, including a Mario Kart tournament for gamers and live karaoke.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy panels and workshops concerning pattern-making and sewing, photography and make up and much more besides.

Admission to the event will cost AU$25 (£16.80) if booked in advance and will be AU$30 on the door on the day.

Art lovers could also be attracted to Smash! for the range of competitions that are aiming to uncover new talent, with the Mascot Music Madness competition offering the chance for budding artists to get their work shown in comics and publications around the world.
